The barrels have been de-sleeved and sent on a trip to Norfolk to see Stu Crane for some welding. The smashed up conrod had punched a large dent into the underside that requires building back up. Then they need resurfacing and a new sleeve fitting. A thicker base spacer will be needed after all the surfacing, so i've been working on modifying my head gasket CAD drawing - turning it into a base gasket. Once i know how thick it needs to be i'll have a couple water cut out of sheet aluminum.I can modify the file very easily, so any diameter sleeve or offset can be accommodated. I can have these cut out of ally or copper quite cheaply should anyone require one.
The head may not need any welding but does need 4 seats and valves. I have a spare piston and a set of rings. The real bummer really is the damaged rod, it needs the crank pulling apart to fit it.
