A smelly box

A very smelly parcel arrived today, when i got home from work the whole flat stank of race fuel. It meant the new (secondhand and still fresh) carburettors had arrived!
They are Fast by Gast 40mm Lectron's.
Compared to a traditional carburettor they are very simple with no choke, no idle circuit, no main jets, in fact nothing at all except a slide with metering rod, a hole where fuel goes in and a hole where fuel comes out. Plus they are surprisingly lightweight.
They come complete with throttle & modified 4 into 1 cable which includes a microswitch which I'll need as part of the nitrous arming circuit.

Yesterday i took the old carbs off in preparation and devised some new routing for the fuel pipes which now must split from one outlet into 4 carbs. I decided the easiest way to do it was to put the old fuel pump and regulator back on, but it appears to have worked out well.

The new and XXL footpegs also arrived a few days ago. Fellow comp bike racer Stuart Crane made them up for me in super fast time, as requested they are nearly twice as long as the old pegs and look almost silly on the bike, but I'm pretty sure i won't care the next time i set of an my feet find them straight away.
