No room at the inn

You may or may not know, that my workshop is down in the cellar. It's not exactly an ideal place to have it as there are 4 large steps to negotiate to get down there, and it takes a combination of 2 scaffold planks to get in and out. I already have 4 bikes in there too and i've just gone and added my Honda VFR road bike to the crowd.....so it's a bit cramped at the moment!
The VFR has been really neglected since i started building the dragbike, and it's time to spend a little time and effort getting it back in order.
I've bought a full stainless steel exhaust system, and i overhauled the brakes today and fitted new pads. It still needs a chain and sprockets, front tyre and some electrical work doing. Plus the fairing needs gluing back together as it's been held together with tape since it was knocked over 4 or 5 years ago!
Then it just needs it's own nitrous kit.

Anyway .... the next race on the ACU calendar is the Summer nationals at Santa Pod on the 14th and 15th of June. I wasn't too keen on the idea of a 2 day event but luckily theres a test and tune day on the Friday before. I've now booked the day off work and I'll head off down on Friday morning and hopefully get lots of runs in, and choose a space in the pits so i don't end up in the field again!
Entries close this coming Friday and so far there are only 4 bikes entered in comp bike.
New ... bigger nitrous jets have been purchased. I went for sizes 22 and 26 which will give nearly 70Hp. They're not going in just yet but i have them when i need them. I'll need to retard the ignition a little for a shot that big or i may have a piston meltdown situation. I don't know if i should buy an electronic unit that retards the ignition once activated or if i should just manually retard it permanently. I should also change over to race fuel as it has a much higher octane. But i think super unleaded plus an octane booster will be ok for now. Any more gas though and i must change. C16 is the nitrous racers usual tipple, it has 116 octane.
The Nitrous bottle also needs filling up, i emptied it so i could weigh it. I now have 2 large bottles i can fill it up from, and just need a pipe to connect them together, and a set of scales to weigh the bottle as it's being filled. It will hold 2.5lbs of nitrous. Both big bottles are empty too and will cost a fortune to have refilled.
