The next race is in less than 2 weeks time and we've bought tickets for the test day on the friday before the national finals too. I've been busy doing flow tests on the nitrous system to work out if we are running it way too rich, and what output the system will support in it's current guise.
The measurements do appear to show that it's way too rich, and in an attempt to tune it more accurately I've refitted the Innovate wideband sensor and logger. When it's been fitted in the past i could never get it to record a readable graph, it just picked up a lot of noise, but i realised a lots changed since then, and the racepak has no such noise problems, so it's time to give it another chance. It's better than leaving it on a shelf doing nothing forever anyway. It's not designed to be fitted to a bike really (it's a bit large) so it's a temporary fitting and a little awkward to get to to start it logging, but hopefully it'll survive the somewhat extreme environment.
The hope is that we can lean it out a little and it should pick up some mph at the top end and maybe a better ET too.
Our motorhome/race transporter has had it's share of problems recently too. The alternator packed in the day before the last meeting, and last week it failed it's MOT and is in need of a lot of welding. Welding that nobody will do because the body cavities have been stuffed with flammable insulation ... doh. So in a rather sad scenario I've had to rip a large portion of the innards out, along with the vapour barrier and insulation, so it can be welded. I can see my upcoming week off being rather busy rebuilding it.
