Degreeing cams is one of those things that sounds complicated and should be avoided, but once you've done it, it's pretty straightforward. So long as you have a dial gauge and a degree wheel of some sorts ( i downloaded one, printed it out and stuck it on some cardboard) then it's no problem...... oh ... and you may need a day or two to do it the first time, as i found out, but thats me and i didn't read my own instructions properly. A good guide to degreeing cams can be found here
And a printable degree wheel here.
A positive stop tool is also required to let you find top dead center, it's simple enough to make one from an old spark plug, just remove the electrode and either weld on or drill out, and thread in a M8 bolt about an inch long, then make it a bit pointy!
The above guide tells you pretty much everything you need to do.
Lobe centers for a normally aspirated GS/GSX should be set at 110 degrees, both inlet and exhaust.
I managed to get mine to 110.25 degrees and i settled for this.
