3 is the magic number

The extreme bike weekend was a bit of a disappointment. For the first time all year the weather was great for the whole weekend. Unfortunately the bike was not.
What is strange really is that i haven't touched the bike since the last run where it went 7.8, but suddenly it's having electrical gremlins, and thats the way it was all weekend. Basically the whole bike kept losing power intermittently, and of course it would never happen in the pits, but would show up straight after the burnout and continue through the run.
The best time of the weekend was an 8.2, which qualified us 4th, and in the first round we met Tony clark. After the burnout I could feel the bike trying to pull me forward just sat on tickover so i decided not to hold it on the 2 step, but to just open the throttle. Surprisingly it left fairly well, and i didn't see tony till about 3/4 track when the bike began cutting out again and there was a huge backfire, from which it didn't recover, and tony took the win.
Out in round one then, and unusually so was Harold Wolfenden, which handed the championship to Phil Leamon. Phil didn't make the final however as Lizz McCarthy found herself running some great times and pulled off  2 consecutive 7.7's and her First Comp bike final!
It wasn't to be though as the number 8 qualifier (Nigel Barker) riding paul Wings bike took the surprise win.

Arge riding the Bopchop wasn't having much luck either. the bike was smoking (a lot) which is a bit of a mystery, and definitely lacking power as the best it could manage was an 11.09. It should have been running fairly easy 9's.

Sam has a load of pictures uploaded to her photobucket page (click the link on the right) , and here are a few to be getting on with ....
