The verdict of the weekends RWYB is: "lets not go to another mini event".
There were just too many vehicles trying to get down the dragstrip, the queue at times ran out of the pairing lanes and circled the entire pits, reaching all the way back to the return road!
The thought of having to join that was enough to stop you running at all, fortunately i joined a biker who was halfway down the queue already, who didn't have an opponent. I'd adjusted the rear wheel spindle slightly (by abut 0.5mm) after the previous days excursion to the left, and this time it went nice and straight. A very strong run i thought, but when i got the timing ticket it was messed up. It showed an 8.9 @ 155mph but something must have gone wrong with the timing equipment on the line (the guy in the opposite lane went right through stage so we had to stage twice) Firstly - it said i pulled a redlight, but by 3 tenths of a second which is pretty unusual in itself as normally you would redlight by a few hundredths or thousandths, not 3 tenths. And secondly the 60ft time was 1.7 seconds which is pretty unlikely as it was flying and was no different to the previous runs where it went 1.33 seconds.
So who knows what it might have been! .... i suspect it was another 8.5. Not really an improvement over the old Mikuni carburettors i was using, but at least now it's running pretty good with the Lectrons, and they are still a bit rich so may make more power once they are leaned out a bit.
I still don't like them very much, they are cheap and crude but I'll stick with them till i can prove they are no better than the VM33 mikunis!
We did manage a second run on Sunday, however i forgot to reset the shift kill relay and it was in the wrong state. Meaning it killed the ignition for the first 3 gears (when it doesn't need to) and didn't kill the ignition for the last 2 gears (which it does need to) so i only had 3 gears and obviously it didn't go very quick.
