One year on

It's pretty much one year ago since i bought the bopchop. A fair amount has happened since then...
I would estimate around 800 hours of my time has gone into it during that year. Heres a couple of shots from shortly after i bought it.

I didn't know where i was going to race it at first. I was thinking RWYB's or Straightliners events maybe. It wasn't until November or so that i decided not to mess about and just enter the ACU events. I figured i would learn more quickly that way.

So .... in the space of a year Ive gone from not knowing anything (i had never even stripped a 4 stroke engine before), to having a 190hp nitrous dragbike a full ACU
The new Nitrous controller on and in place
competition licence, and entered 3 National events. I havent broken any records or even run anywhere near the bikes potential. But I've gone faster than i would have expected one year ago (to be honest the thought of even sitting on it scared me a year ago) and with any luck i will be well down into the 8 second bracket before the year is out.

Anyway .... back to present situation.
The complete rewiring job is pretty much finished. There are a lot more wires than before and new additions such as the MSD Multi step retard unit, another relay and a new nitrous controller. Yet somehow it looks simpler and like theres less than before. Fingers crossed it will be just as reliable as the last harness, the connectors are all good quality, not those cheap insulated crimp on jobbies that fall off instantly.

The mini bopchop towbike is also nearing completion. The seat has been made taller to make it more comfy but looks rubbish as it's just polystyrene covered in duck tape.

Next weekend theres a Straightliners event at Kirkbride airfield in Cumbria. I'm hoping to go
to that and get some runs in to test the clutch and a few other changes I've made. I'll get it fired up tomorrow and do some tests on the ignition retard unit just to check it's working ok. A billet ignition rotor has been ordered from Roger Upperton to replace the waggly Suzuki one. It should help with getting the timing set up accurately.
