Repairs to the trailer tent are now hopefully complete. The chassis is a bit rotten so making good welds was difficult, but i think it will do the job.
Anyhooo... my Easter Thunderball race tickets, entry acceptance form, pitting information and weekend schedule arrived this morning. As usual there have been changes in the rules at a time thats pretty much too late to do anything about it. I bought a 2kg fire extinguisher a couple of months ago as you have to have one in your pit area. Well now it's changed and you have to have a 4kg one! Great!
With your race entry fee you get 4 event entry tickets and a Vehicle Pass.
Our plan was to set off after work on Thursday, call off in Bury on the way and continue with the rest of the team from there. The track opens at 3pm on Thursday so it's not a problem arriving Thursday night but entry to the race paddock is not allowed after midnight, this would be a problem as i doubt we would arrive until then. So i might have to get the afternoon off work and set off early.
Signing on and scrutineering takes place between 7am and 10.30am. All my crew need to sign on too to get passes to allow them into the trackside area.
There should be 3 qualifying rounds on the first 2 days for Competition bike.
Fridays scheduled times are 10.35, then 1.30 and 4.00.
Saturdays times are 10.05, 2.30 and 6.00
Sunday may only have 1 qualifying round at 12.00 and possibly the first elimination round at 3.30
Monday has 1 elimination round and then the final.
Saturdays schedule goes on until 7pm with 3 jet vehicles due to do some night time passes... not as cool as fuel, but should still be good.
The Santa Pod webcam will be posting pictures every minute during the event and coverage will be updated on the Eurodragster.com website, each evening.
