Getting started??

I'd just finished checking the installed height of all the exhaust valves when i spotted some new kibblewhite performance valve springs for the GS1100 and GS1150 going cheap on eBay and couldn't resist them. These arrived today but they come with new spring seats.... which are slightly thicker than the standard ones. So i'll have to do some maths and work out how by how much it will alter my measurements.

Getting started .... thats going to be one of the next problems. After laying out all the parts that have something to do with the starter motor and mechanism, i thought i could do without all that weight. There is: starter motor, big battery, starter gear, starter clutch, flywheel, and the case cover. Weighing about 15kg i would guess. Instead i found a starter cover and nut kit on eBay that i got for less than £20! Unfortunately i now need an offboard starter or i need to make one somehow. It will also mean having an assistant with me to get the bike running.
