Still waiting for parts to arrive so i've made made lots of progress on other things.
Theres now lots and lots of added "Bling", the forks, yolks, clamps and back wheel have all seen some serious attention from my polishing mops. The back wheel took around 3 hours per side, and fork legs over an hour each but they have come up great. Metallic Turtlewax is the business at protecting that shine from oxidation, so they have been waxed to the max!
All the bodywork has been filled, sanded down and sprayed with primer. I need a nice sunny day now so i can get some spraying done. Unless you spray in warm weather or direct sunlight the paint just Blooms (dries dull).
The engine mounting points have received some attention too as most of them were worn. Two of them i cut off completely and made bolt on replacements, this will also make engine removal and refitting easier.
Dave beck has finished o-ringing the barrels, and will be sending them back in the next day or two.
Several small parts have been bought off ebay. A Tiny little front brake master cylinder off a 50 cc Aprillia. A rear brake reservoir from aRFV400. New grips. Secondhand headlight fairing as the one i have is badly cracked. And lots of stainless bolts and wiring components.
The seat is also going to be replaced. It's bent and the cover is tired and wonky. I quite fancy just cutting some closed cell foam and using that as it doesn't soak up water and is firm without a cover. But it's hard to get hold of in thicknesses over 20mm so i'm getting quotes from custom seat makers , to do a bespoke one.
Once the parts arrive from the US i can start putting the engine back together, they have now been posted and should arrive in a few days.
This is a clip of the "killacycle" an electric drag bike i've been keeping an eye on in the US. However this isn't a clip of it in action. But one of the owner destroying it. Click the link at the top right of the page or this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pM1j2d1RMU
