In the points championship Lizz McCarthy is 175 Points ahead of Allan Davies, which is a fairly comfortable lead, but it is drag racing and anything can happen, so the pressure will be on for both teams to perform well.
We are currently 5th behind Tony Clark, so a 4th or 5th place finish would seem likely.
There are 9 entries on the latest list, and they are the same 9 as the last round. Funny bike also has 9 but their championship is pretty much decided already.
As mentioned in previous posts, at the last round we started measuring and logging exhaust gas using a wideband sensor. The graphs are tricky to read as the start point is difficult to distinguish accurately, but I've managed to do it by comparing the Racepak logs, which have a definite start point and then working out the time scale. On every run the bike ran rich, but thats not the whole story, it's nowhere near as rich whilst pulsing, and somewhat puzzlingly there is a large and very lean spike immediately after launch.
There could be several reasons for it, so the plan is to try a couple of things to get rid of it before leaning out the whole setup. It would be silly to try bigger jets to go faster when we already have a large amount of unburnt fuel flowing through it. If we could get it to burn it'll go faster anyway.
Over the winter the Innovate wideband logger will be removed from the bike and put up for sale to help fund the same setup for the Racepak, it will be so much easier to interpret the results when they are all on the same graph!
