Too good to break?

Just two weeks till the next race at Shakespeare county Race way (round 4 of 6), and amazingly in the last few days i've gathered all the parts together, assembled the engine, fitted it, oh ... and my entry tickets have arrived too. So fingers crossed team bopchop is going racing again!

The new/old/repaired engine looks great with the blasted cases. It is the best looking engine so far.... too good to break .... hopefully! The head has now been skimmed so far back there's very little combustion chamber left, and i doubt it could take another. Plus the barrels have been skimmed top and bottom too,  I've had to add 2.5mm of spacer beneath the barrels to get the compression ratio right, luck i had the 2 water cut a while ago. They fitted perfectly without any modification.

Later in the week or next weekend we will get it out and fire it up to set ignition timing and slider stall speed, it will give the new parts chance to bed in a bit too.

I've got a feeling that eurodragster won't be covering this event at all, there's no link on their events page, and it looks like they will be covering the euro event at Tierp in Sweden instead. That's a bit of a bummer really, as people have gotten used to being able to follow the even via the internet.

We will have to find a new crew member to be a media whore and chain them to the grandstand with a laptop with the sole task of reporting everything!
