I do have a brand new clutch pack waiting to go in, the plates have been soaking in oil for a couple of days, the pack has been measured and calculations made to determine the installed height. However i need longer standoffs for the Lockup or it wont have sufficient air gap and the lever won't have enough play to disengage the clutch. I bought some ally bar off eBay a week ago to make some but it's not arrived. So it looks like I'll have to use a couple of washers on each one to bring the height up.
I didn't have the right combination of springs and shims to get the correct spring pressure either. 6 springs and no shims will give over 200lb, which is probably too much, and 4 springs with shims only gives 156lb which probably isn't enough. So i followed up a tip i had to try using inner valve springs ...... they ain't as large as clutch springs but they do fit fine, and they offer about half the pressure. So using a combination of 4 clutch springs and 2 valve springs I'll have a base pressure that's somewhere in the region I'm after for the first run.
Wheely bars have been modified, 1/2" was chopped out of the top rail and welded back up. This will bring the bars up by quite a lot but i can wind them down to the same height as before with the adjusters. I don't know what the ideal height is so i'll just make them a bit higher than before.
The entry list for comp bike at this event is larger than ever with 11 bikes. It means that 3 bikes won't qualify. And if i don't make the field i won't get to run on the Sunday..... or at least not in Comp bike. However - both days are also a RWYB so i'll enter that on sunday if i'm not in the field. I may enter it anyway just to get more runs in!
