Take cover

Because of the strong headwind at the last even it was difficult to properly evaluate the effect that the change in sprocket had made, so to give us a wider selection I've bought another one. Now, even if we should find a little more power and top speed we'll have a sprocket to match.

Since coming back from the last event I've had the cylinder head off again, and properly cleaned up the epoxy that i globbed in the port, and re-examined the valves for damage but didn't find anything to worry about.  I've also managed to buy a secondhand quick access clutch cover. This will make clutch servicing a bit less hassle and speed it up a little. It can take 20 minutes or so to pull the plates, change any that are damaged, re-measure, adjust and put it all back together. The cover allows it to happen without leaning the bike over to stop the oil running out, and saves the hassle of removing the exhaust as well. Plus there's only half as many screws to remove to get in there in the first place.

I had to modify the oil filler cap that came with it to accept my engine breather, as the size and thread are different. I bored it out on the lathe,  then reduced my existing breather bung, and pressed the two together. It worked out pretty good for a simple fix.

Next weekend there's a RWYB event at Shakespeare county raceway, we are contemplating going, in order to get a few runs in. The idea being to try a few different things to make the bike go in a straight line. It may mean just running it without nitrous and do as many runs as possible until we get it sussed.
