Phew!

A wave of relif washed over the entire bopchop operation on Sunday when we dragged it outside, stuck the starter on and it rumbled into life.
It took a lot of work to get it ready, Stuart was a big help coming up on Saturday and Sunday to give a hand. I got the Cylinder head back From Warpspeed racing on Thursday as planned, the repair is nice work, and it's very difficult to tell it's been repaired at all!
I worked late on Friday night honing the cam journals as the cams were pretty tight, this continued on Saturday morning, then the head went on, and i had to tweak the cam timing a fair bit - probably as a result of having the head skimmed ad it didn't need any adjustment when i did i dry build a couple of weeks ago. Then the engine went back in reattached everything, fitted the new carb boots, to which i have made and fitted integral fogger holders, plus the carbs and wiring etc.
Filled it with oil and fuel, checked for leaks and took it out for the fireup. No oil leaks, no funny noises, seems to run well and responds to the throttle nicely. It's a good job really as i didn't have any other time left to change anything else. I've spent the last two evenings getting everything packed and loaded into the van, arranging Fuel and supplies etc, and generally spending too much money.

Sam won't be joining us this weekend as she has to work, so we are manager-less once again. It'll be me and Stuart, plus cellar proprietors and sponsors Vik and Arge joining us on Friday for the day. We are heading down on Thursday and are hoping to be there early evening.

As mentioned in my last post the entry list is a good one. The complete list plus links to the race schedule, end of day reports and galleries plus a new and now realtime web cam and commentary are all provided by the excellent eurodragster.com and can be found HERE
