Just in time for Christmas

Due to my Sisters recent venture into dragbike sponsorship i now have the somewhat fab - MSD MC-4 ignition, which was delivered on Christmas eve. She bought the whole deal from the states secondhand, direct from NHRA prostock racer Steve Johnson. The wiring loom is the only part which hasn't arrived as it's coming in a separate package.

The MC4 really is the business when it comes to ignitions, it's fully programmable (via a laptop) with custom timing curves, burnout rev limit, launch rev limit, kill time, and built in support for my 123 auto.
It will replace my ageing MSD MC-1, which despite being very reliable - was lacking in features and meant i had to have an extra box for everything. A box with rpm pills for the 2 step rev limiter, a box with retard pills for the ignition retard, and a clever but relay happy and sometimes temperamental system for managing the ignition kill for use with the auto box.
I've done a new wiring diagram for the whole bike as most of the existing wiring will be redundant. It's a lot simpler, and hopefully more reliable as less relays are required. I've cut the number of relays down from 5 to 2 and one of those could easily be left out if necessary. Relays are notoriously unreliable in extreme environments like the vibe happy world of a GSX dragbike.

I'm hoping to move the ignitions location on the bike too, from under the seat to infront of the handlebars in the fairing nose. Space is a bit tight there but there's just enough room so long as i can modify the fairing bracket to accommodate it. The reasons for the move are to do with getting weight in right places, and simply because it saves running so many wires up and down the length of the bike.

It seems that suddenly there's quite a lot needs doing on the bike, i've not done much to the new head but have made up some spacers for the nitrous foggers, as there's nowhere for them otherwise. I'll need to order a new set of head studs as the 1150 head uses different lengths to my 1100 setup. And before i get carried away changing things i need to strip the head apart and inspect it all closely and hopefully ask someone who knows what he's doing - i.e. Roger Upperton to check it over for me.
