The first event of the year is suddenly only 3 weeks away. Entries for the Easter Thunderball closed yesterday (20/3/09) and version 7 of the entry list is currently available courtesy of Eurodragster.com
So far there are 9 entries for Competition bike but there are a couple of names missing that i would expect to be there so a 10 or 11 bike field seems likely.
Despite many new bikes being built and talked about over the winter months, the entries are mainly made up of the usual suspects, the only differences as far as i know are the defection of Richard Gipp from the ranks of ACU Pro stock bike. And the change of ride for Dave Buttery, who as far as i can ascertain will be riding Stephen Moons Outlaw GSXR.
There may well be a lot more changes than my limited detective skills can fathom however!

Last weekend i got the bike out of the cellar and fired it up. All seems well with the engine and there are no oil leaks. But i did have trouble with the wideband unit, in that it kept resetting itself and the connection to the laptop kept going off. The 2 main ideas i had regarding this were firstly i suspected the vibration of the engine was causing it to freak out, as it worked fine without the engine running. the second idea was that maybe the drain of the ignition when running left it without enough juice to work properly. However i found a very loose connection in the loom that has now been rectified, so the hope is that it will be fine now. It will have to wait until another time for the next test however.
