Other drag racing.....

It's quite odd having nothing significant to blog about. The bike is covered up and ready to go, i do have stuff to do, but until i get the gadgets mentioned in the previous post and the auto box then it's just sat waiting.
I've been busy making a new starter cart, one that keeps the batteries level - it's a bit of a copy of the pingel ones that are available. It's made out of chair legs salvaged from the scrap bin.... so it's fully recycled and environmentally sound! I still need to make a slightly larger battery box with a couple of extra connectors for the Nitrous bottle heater to plug into. Can't make that from table legs so computer cases might be on my salvage agenda.

There's a great report on Dragracing online.com from the recent AMA National finals in Valdosta, South Georgia. This end of season event is renowned for record setting racing and huge fields of bikes turned out in all classes. I watched parts of it online via the streaming webcam and there are plenty of clips on the net. This one of the Larry Mcbride top fuel bike running a 5.74 which was spectacular indeed.....
The timeslip shows he was doing 225.07mph at half track ....in 3 seconds!
